Where the Name Comes From
A thousand years ago these hills were forest, and the old Kannada tellings put a young man named Sala on this ridge, standing his ground as a tiger broke from the trees. The kingdom that took his name is long gone. We grow our coffee on the same ground, and named ours after the cub still somewhere in those trees.
