Tiny Tiger Espresso. Quick. Strong. Unstoppable!
What you'll need
- An Espresso Machine
- 18g Freshly Roasted Tiny Tiger Beans
- Burr Grinder & Tamper
- Β Digital Scale
- Timer (your phone works!)
The Method
-
Dial in the Grind
Weigh 18g of freshly roasted Tiny Tiger Coffee Beans and grind the coffee to a texture finer than table salt (but not as fine as icing sugar).
-
Prepare Your Machine
Preheat your espresso machine and portafilter by running hot water through them. Once heated, make sure to dry the portafilter thoroughly before use.
-
Distribute and Tamp your Portafilter
Evenly distribute your 18g of ground coffee into the portafilter. Tap, shake and level βmake sure that youβre not leaving any clumps or holes. Firmly tamp down with even pressure, ensuring a flat and level coffee puck.
-
Pull the Espresso Shot
Lock the portafilter into your espresso machine. Place your cup or espresso glass on the scale beneath the spouts. Start extraction, aiming for a 1:2 ratio (18g coffee : 36g espresso) in about 25-30 seconds. Monitor flow: Espresso should begin as a slow drip, progressing to a steady, honey-like flow.
-
Sip & adjust
Taste your espresso: 1. If your espresso is too bitter or slow to extract, adjust to a coarser grind. 2. If it is too sour or watery, adjust to a finer grind.
