South Indian Filter Coffee
South Indian Filter Coffee - Just the way Mom used to make it at home!
What you'll need
- South Indian coffee filter (stainless steel)
- Freshly roasted Tiny Tiger coffee powder (medium to fine grind)
- Hot water (just off-boil)
- Fresh milk (preferably whole milk)
- Sugar (optional)
The Method
-
Prepare the Filter
Assemble your stainless-steel coffee filter with the perforated disc placed in the upper chamber.
-
Add Coffee Powder
Add approximately 20 grams (3-4 tablespoons) of Tiny Tiger coffee powder into the top chamber and gently level the coffee without compressing.
-
 Add Hot Water
Pour about 100 ml of hot water (just below boiling) slowly and evenly over the coffee grounds. Fill until almost full, leaving space to place the lid comfortably.
-
Brewing
Close the lid and allow coffee to drip slowly into the bottom chamber. Allow coffee to drip completely within the 15–20-minute brewing time.
-
Prepare the Coffee Drink
Heat milk and sugar (optional) according to taste and pour your freshly brewed coffee decoction into a tumbler or cup, typically at a ratio of 1:3 or 1:2 (coffee to milk). Mix by pouring back and forth between the tumbler and a small steel bowl to aerate and cool slightly, creating that yummy frothy texture we all love.
-
Serve and Enjoy
Serve hot and savor the authentic taste of Tiny Tiger South Indian filter coffee.
